We’ve always been confident in the work we do for our clients, but, like the classic analogy of the builder living in a dilapidated house, we sometimes focus so much on others that we forget to take care of our own marketing. So, for the month of August we decided to put our skills to the test and see what could happen if we directed our energy toward our own business.
Spoiler alert: the results were remarkable.
Below, we’ve broken down our strategy, the results we achieved, and what we plan to do next. If you’re interested in following along or implementing similar steps in your own business, keep reading!
The Strategy
Our approach was straightforward but comprehensive, ensuring we covered all the key bases:
Step One: Show Up Every Day on Social Media
We didn’t just post and ghost, we showed up! That means creating engaging content for Facebook and Instagram daily and maintaining a consistent presence on LinkedIn by posting three times per week. But it wasn’t just about posting—we added stories, created reels, invited people to like our LinkedIn page (did you know you get 250 free credits every month for this?), responded to comments, sent messages, and genuinely engaged with our audience.
Social media is about being social, after all.
Step Two: Refresh Our Website with a New Blog Post
We dusted off our website and crafted a fresh blog post, but we didn’t just write for the sake of writing. We wanted our content to reflect what we’re truly passionate about—accessible marketing, one of the core reasons we started this business. This post wasn’t just content, it was a statement of our values.
Step Three: Reconnect with Our Audience Through a Newsletter
We sent out a newsletter packed with valuable content and a link to our latest blog post. It was our way of letting everyone know we’re still here, still passionate, and still committed to delivering value.
Step Four: Invest in Meta Advertising
We decided to amplify our efforts with a $200 investment in Meta advertising. While organic reach is fantastic, a little paid boost can go a long way in increasing visibility and attracting new leads.
That’s it—a significant investment of our time and about $7.50 per day in ad spend for the month of August. And while the month isn’t quite over yet, we’re excited to share the results we’ve seen so far!
The Results
This concentrated effort is a perfect example of why we LOVE digital marketing:
- 400% Increase in Leads: This was the highlight for us. Seeing a 400% increase in new leads was obviously amazing, and once again demonstrated the power of a well-rounded marketing strategy.
- Organic Search Up 53.3%: Our new content paid off, with more users finding us through organic search than ever before.
- Direct Traffic Up 70.2%: The newsletter and blog post drove a noticeable increase in direct traffic as more people were motivated to visit our website directly.
- Organic Social Traffic Up 633.3%: Our consistent social media engagement led to an incredible boost in organic social traffic, proving that showing up every day makes a difference.
- Referral Traffic Up 130.0%: Partnerships and backlinks played a crucial role in this increase, driving more traffic from other websites.
What’s Next?
The next step is to stay consistent and build on this momentum. For September, we plan to introduce Google Ads and enhance our Meta Ads strategy. Consistency is key, and we’re committed to holding ourselves accountable. Want to stay updated? Let us know, and we’ll keep you in the loop!
Key Takeaways
This test has reinforced the importance of a holistic marketing approach. By combining content creation, social media engagement, and targeted advertising, we achieved remarkable results. The 400% increase in leads is a testament to the effectiveness of these strategies when applied consistently and with purpose.
